Family album: Lana Del Rey in previously unseen images shot by her sister

Not since Marmite has anyone divided this much opinion.

But it seems no one can make up their mind about singer Lana del Rey.

The fashion industry love her – cue Vogue cover, Mulberry bag the ‘Del Rey’, and front row access guaranteed.

Others, who think she’s just a fake reinventing herself over and over again to achieve fame, are not so convinced.

But we think anyone who has the pouty, sultry pose nailed to perfection deserves kudos.

For evidence, see these shots taken by Lana’s (aka Lizzie Grant) sister Chuck in 2010.

Lana Del Rey on the other hand…..

And the biggest fashion disappointment of the night goes to…..

Lana del Rey, we had such high hopes for you!

She looked well-hot in Antonio Berardi in the Born to Die video then covered Vogue, then had a Mulberry bag named after her and we think this Vivienne Westwood dress just fell flat.

It’s not that she looks bad, it’s just a bit of a snoozefest…

What do you think?

Mulberry brings the yeti to London Fashion Week with fantastical furry catwalk show (don’t tell PETA)

It was chaos at Claridge’s Hotel yesterday morning. Clutching our invite as if it were Charlie Bucket’s Golden Ticket to the Wonka factory, we squeezed through the crowds trying to get in, shimmied past the bouncers and through the art deco panelled revolving doors into the hotel.

Inside, it was like a Mulberry-themed fantasy land. Every surface was festooned with gold balloons in the shape of the Mulberry padlock, giant padlocks were stacked up around the walls, and Claridge’s waiters handed out miniature bottles with black and gold Mulberry labels filled with juice.

Inside the starlit Ballroom, enormous yeti creatures loomed over the catwalk, while furry paws reached out to grab the gold padlocks. In the darkened room, we parked our bottoms on long benches covered in shaggy black fur to wait for the show.

Setting the scene: Yetis loomed large over the catwalk, inspired by Maurice Sendak's children's classic Where The Wild Things Are

There was much hysteria as Michelle WIlliams, Lana Del Rey, Olivia Palermo, Elizabeth Olsen and Bill Nighy were shepherded through the crowd of gathered guests; gawd knows how Anna Wintour got in without ruffling her bob .

The collection itself was heavy on the fur – inspired by Maurice Sendak’s Where The Wild Things Are (creepy children’s book with lots of hairy monsters) – meaning full yeti long-haired goat coats, gilets and even skirts.

It was a feast of volume and texture, with chunky marble-knit scarves tucked into skinny leather belts, viscose-coated skirts with a delicate sheen acting as a foil for shaggy fur or  heavy knits, and tons of parkas.

The colour palette? Oak, chocolate, sycamore, espresso, shot through with flame and petrol with the odd flash of snowball white.

 BAG NEWSFLASH:

Apart from the Del Rey, which was sent down the catwalk in an inky blue sparkly croc, there was the Maisie, which was given a modern overhaul with heat moulded rubber creating the trad Mulberry locks and hardware on the facade of the bag in a trompe l’oeil fashion.

The Alexa got the AW12 treatment too – tassels and studs added, as well as colourful zig zags.

OMG! Lana Del Rey covers British Vogue

Six months ago, no one one knew her name but thanks to YouTube an amazing PR offensive, Lana Del Rey has landed her first ever Vogue cover.

The singer shot to fame when her stunning debut single Video Games was played on the catwalk at Fashion Week and the rest, it appears, is history.

She has caused a bit of a ruckus as everyone wonders, is this chick for real?

Ff says Lana is stunning, we love her music and the girl can dress – we may be easily pleased, but that’s enough for us.

And she is wearing Louis Vuitton…bonus points.

Ff loves: Hot new singer Lana del Rey

Lana Del Rey wears Antonio Berardi for her new video, Born to Die

Ff first heard of Lana Del Rey when her song Video Games was used on the catwalk at Fashion Week back in September.

Since then, we have been hooked on the singer with lips that could put Angelina in the shade and a voice to rival Adele’s.

In her new video, Born to Die, Lana looks positively regal, sitting on a throne in between two tigers, wearing a white Antonio Berardi dress.

We didn’t think we could love her more. But we do.
