My body, my self: Sienna Miller covers Harper’s, is in the ‘next stage’ of her life

Posted on by M in Fashion News, Fashionfreude | Leave a comment

Harper’s Bazaar’s new editor Justine Picardie has chosen Sienna Miller as the cover girl for her launch issue next month.

Themed around ‘the body’, the January edition features an in-depth interview with the actress.

Sienna has had a busy year, between her court battle with the press and having a baby girl, she is described by the mag as being in ‘the next stage’ of her life and reveals details of birth and life as a parent:

On being a mother: ‘It’s still the most surreal thing, that you can create, that I grew this life inside my stomach, her eyeballs, everything – every little fibre.

‘And I’d expected that she’d be this extension of me and I’d instantly understand who she was because she’d come from me, and then you realise that they are their own people entirely. Very connected to you, of course. But they’re their own person.’

On Childbirth: ‘It’s the best, the greatest thing in the world… I would do that day a million times again. I would do that day, every day. I loved it,’

On her body: ‘My body’s a completely different thing to me, it’s not mine – all the attachment to its flaws or any aesthetic attachment is gone. You understand what breasts are for; and I have such enormous respect for my body because of what it can do.’

On hiring a nanny: ‘It’s just been the three of us, which was amazing, and exhausting. We are going to get a nanny, but it felt important to first learn for myself who I was as a parent.’

Photographed by David Slijper and styled by Leith Clark across 11 pages, Sienna wears Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton and Chloe for the shoot, channelling a Sixties vibe ‘that is feminine yet contemporary.’

We think she looks beautiful.

Marion Cotillard plays dress-up with a closet full of Dior

Marion Cotillard is one of those actresses we just love to love.

Beautiful, talented, stylish – and she has that French thing going on.

As the face of Dior, Marion gets her pick of the most uh-mazing wardrobe as seen in the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

Technically, we should hate her but she is so French  charming, she gets away with it…

Check out her behind-the-scenes shoot below. C’est magnifique!

Nicole Kidman’s got Faith: Actress and child pose on cover of Harper’s Bazaar

Posted on by M in Fashion News, Fashionfreude | Leave a comment

Nicole Kidman is a true natural, elegant and timeless beauty.

The 44-year-old looked positively ethereal for the latest cover of Harper’s Bazaar Australia.

On the magazine’s website, the editor explains Kidman took part in a fashion shoot in the countryside, a few hours from Sydney and allowed the photographer to snap her with her daughters for her own private family photo album.

But one of the images made the cover and we can see why.

Edwina McCann wrote: ‘Later in the afternoon, Sunday Rose and Faith arrived after their sleeps to see Mummy. Kidman didn’t want to put them down; Sunday Rose donned one of the tuxedo jackets from the clothing racks because it was getting chilly.

‘The photographer then took some shots of Kidman with the girls solely for her family album.’

Simply stunning.

Queen Victoria: Mrs Beckham covers Harper’s, has conquered the fashion world

Posted on by M in Fashion News, Fashionfreude | Leave a comment

Lying on a bed of flowers and wearing a Prada S/S12 swimsuit, Victoria Beckham has arrived…according to Harper’s Bazaar.

The UK edition claim VB has ‘conquered the fashion world.’

Given the May issue is a Jubilee special, the royal accolade only serves to reinforce her fashion clout. Mission accomplished.

But it’s not often a designer lands a cover… which goes to show Victoria will always be a celebrity first and a creative second…

Somehow though, we doubt she minds…

All hail Queen V!

What’s wrong with this picture? Miranda Kerr poses for Harper’s Bazaar, eats carbs

Miranda Kerr in spaghetti shocker, wears an Oscar de la Renta dress

Miranda Kerr has always claimed to be a healthy eater and advocator of coconut oil – and with the body of a Victoria’s Secret angel, there’s just no way she strays from the path of leafy greens.

Which is why the sight of the Australian beauty indulging in a plate of spaghetti and meatballs is just a step too far beyond reality.

Miranda was shot by Terry Richardson for the Harper’s Bazaar spread, inspired by Italian actress Monica Vitti, on location in Brooklyn.

We are loving the backcombed, flammable hair. Big is back.

Mila Kunis poses for Harper’s Bazaar, would like a bigger rear

Mila Kunis is Harper’s Bazaar’s latest cover girl, shot by Terry Richardson.

Besides being beautiful, the face of Dior and getting to wear a wardrobe of stunning designer clothes (including those Louis Vuitton shoes) for the shoot, Mila is also one cool chick.

She opened up in the interview about life as an actress, how no one asks her out and why losing 20llbs for Black Swan screwed her body up.

She told the mag: ‘My shape is different. When I got down to 95 pounds, I was muscles, like a little brick house, but skin and bones.

‘When I gained it back, it went to completely different areas. I’d be happy if my ass got bigger. All the weight that left my chest went to my side hip, my stomach.’

Thanks for admitting that Mila, we feel better!

Set to star in Oz the Great and Powerful with James Franco, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams, watch Mila’s space – her stock is on the rise.

Holy moly! It’s Gwyneth Paltrow, like you’ve never seen her….

That’s it, we are ordering everything Tracy Anderson, like now..

The personal trainer is responsible for turning Gwyneth Paltrow into this and we want in on the action!

The actress features on the cover of the re-designed March issue of Harper’s Bazaar and is so hot – editor in chief Glenda Bailey doesn’t even think we need to see her face!

The Goop founder is rocking an Anthony Vaccarello dress and shoes by Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci and  was shot by Terry Richardson.

The mag’s new look is an attempt to catch up with top three performers (in terms of ad space) Vogue, In Style and Elle.

Ff says job well done – Whatever Gwyn’s selling, with that bod, we’re buying!

The March edition hits newsstands on Feb 14th.

‘Growing up a Jagger wasn’t easy for her’: Georgia May covers Harper’s, is interviewed by her mother Jerry Hall

The tan is officially back. According to Harper’s Bazaar.

Georgia May Jagger is looking rather golden on the cover of the March issue, we think.

In case there was any danger of missing out on some rays, her light-reflective metallic sequin outfit by Givenchy will help.

The offspring of Rolling Stone Mick was interviewed by her supermodel mother Jerry Hall for the mag and revealed some interesting things.

Ms Hall said of the gap-toothed beauty: ‘Growing up a Jagger wasn’t always easy for her.

‘She didn’t like it if I turned up at school all made-up. She preferred me to be wearing no make-up and tracksuit bottoms, like the other mums.

‘She didn’t like Dad picking her up in a fancy car, either.’

We would just like to say that we at Ff would have no problem whatsoever with any of the above and if either Jerry Hall or Mick Jagger fancied picking us up in a nice car, all-made up, well  that would be fine.

WTF moment: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley faced barrage of criticism over looks

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley on the cover of Harper's Bazaar's Body Issue... split ends?

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley on the cover of Harper's Bazaar's Body Issue… split ends?

Looking at Rosie Huntington-Whiteley on January’s Harper’s Bazaar it’s actually impossible to imagine finding even the tiniest flaw on her bod (though FF would love to get up close to check for split ends, at the very least). Apparently though, not everyone agrees. Poor RHW tells Bazaar that when she moved to the big bad US from her Devon hometown, she encountered a barrage of criticism.

‘All I kept hearing was, “honey, you gotta change this; your hair’s this; your legs are that; you’re not enough this; you’re not enough that; you’re too much this; why are you wearing that?”. It was a constant stream of judgement.’

Things are different in the UK though, RSW insists. ‘I have a different feeling when I come back to England; as soon as I touch down in Heathrow and drive into London and down to Devon, there’s a sense of home and belonging,’ she says. Phew. Given that Rosie’s not only the star of Bazaar’s Body issue but is also the face and figure of Burberry’s Body perfume, it is clear that us Brits are a bit more forgiving of such aesthetic imperfection… And that the sharp-tongued American critics need to clean their specs.

Pets and babies are the new must-have accessory

Caroline Trentini and her feline friend cover Harper's Bazaar Brazil

At first glance, it looks like any old fur stole.

But perched on Caroline Trentini’s shoulder isn’t your average scarf – it’s a cat.

The Victoria’s Secret model’s feline friend made his debut for Harper’s Brazil this month.

Vogue Spain have an alternative offering, courtesy of Dree Hemingway (Ernest’s granddaughter) who poses on the cover – quite literally holding the baby.

We at FF headquarters are not quite sure what to make of this weird new trend.

But it reminded us of Liz Hurley and Britney Spears rocking the python look.

It seems livestock luxe has been around for a while but when it comes to our handbags, we think we’ll stick to still life.
