Met Ball 2012: Riccardo Tisci nails it at fashion’s most important function

Riccardo Tisci and Rooney Mara at the Met Ball

Three cheers for Riccardo Tisci, who sent out an army of fembots celebs to model his divine dresses at the Met Ball last night.

The glamorous event, celebrating Prada and Schiaparelli this year, was a litany of who’s who in fashion, Hollywood and New York Elite.

But Ff reckons Tisci, who was accompanied by Rooney Mara, won the night with his gothic, sultry and sexy designs.

Gisele and Tom are hot, hot, hot!

And then there was Beyonce….whose Givenchy sheer feather gown should have been a frock horror but it’s Beyonce. And she can do anything. And she rocked it.

Oscars 2012: Rooney Mara goes trademark in Givenchy Couture

Although Rooney Mara looks fabulous in Givenchy Couture, doing what she does best, we would have liked to have seen the actress switch it up last night – if only because it was the Oscars.

But kudos to Rooney for not hitting the (St Tropez) bottle and keeping her alabaster skin – a true classic beauty.

Cutaway vs plunging: Which Rooney Mara look do you prefer?

Presenting our new fashion icon…the girl with the killer style.

We are beyond obsessed with Rooney Mara at the moment.

The girl is the personification of high-fashion and we just can’t get enough.

Last night, the actress wore aubergine J.Mendel to the Costume Designers Guild Awards and has been rocking the plunging neckline of late.

Prior to that, Mara loved a cutaway dress. Which suits her more? Erm, both!

Note the total lack of accessories because with dresses like these (and a face like that), no extras are needed. Adore.

Madonna brings high fashion to the Superbowl, steals the show

Ff, a little late to the game (geddit?) has just watched Madonna’s Superbowl extravaganza.

Can we just say…wow.

The energy this fembot woman possesses, at 53, is staggering and we wish we had even an ounce of her stamina.

And the threads! All Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci Couture.

Her bespoke headpiece was designed by Philip Treacy and the bling was provided by Bulgari.

Tisci said of the three-outfit parade: ‘People say everything has a limit, but limits do not exist with Madonna.’ Clearly.

This 12 minute production is the work of a legend and we doubt there will ever be a pop star like her again.

Although she performed new single Gimme all your Luvin’ with Nicki Minaj and MIA, our favourite parts of the show were Madge singing the classics.

Vogue, Like a Prayer, even Music….

Imagine a greatest hits tour! One for her eightieth birthday maybe?

‘Growing up a Jagger wasn’t easy for her’: Georgia May covers Harper’s, is interviewed by her mother Jerry Hall

The tan is officially back. According to Harper’s Bazaar.

Georgia May Jagger is looking rather golden on the cover of the March issue, we think.

In case there was any danger of missing out on some rays, her light-reflective metallic sequin outfit by Givenchy will help.

The offspring of Rolling Stone Mick was interviewed by her supermodel mother Jerry Hall for the mag and revealed some interesting things.

Ms Hall said of the gap-toothed beauty: ‘Growing up a Jagger wasn’t always easy for her.

‘She didn’t like it if I turned up at school all made-up. She preferred me to be wearing no make-up and tracksuit bottoms, like the other mums.

‘She didn’t like Dad picking her up in a fancy car, either.’

We would just like to say that we at Ff would have no problem whatsoever with any of the above and if either Jerry Hall or Mick Jagger fancied picking us up in a nice car, all-made up, well  that would be fine.

Surf chic: Gisele doesn't let a dark sky get in the way

Is it Versace or Givenchy?

We can’t keep up with the ins and outs of Gisele Bundchen’s life – but we can enjoy the pictures.

The supermodel features in a sneak peek of the French label’s new campaign, set for official release next year.

Designer Riccardo Tisci calls it ‘the expression of a love story between a surfer and a mermaid.’

We call it ‘how Gisele became the richest model in the world, one campaign at a time.’
