Chocolate for breakfast? Well it is the Jubilee (almost)

Posted on by D in Foodfreude | Leave a comment

Given that we deal on a daily basis with infinite photos of skinny oops I mean slender catwalk models and celebrities, it would be easy to be driven to starvation. Luckily we are made of stronger stuff. This morning’s stronger stuff came courtesy of Lindt, who sent in a pack of their luscious Lindor truffles to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. It would have been practically treason not to eat one three. They are pure chocolate alchemy – the molten centre …

Shop talk: Victoria Beckham to open boutique in London

Posted on by D in Fashion News, Fashionfreude | Leave a comment

She is the darling of New York Fashion week, the go-to girl for Hollywood’s A-list, and she won the Designer of the Year award at the 2011 British Fashion Awards. Victoria Beckham is flying so so high right now. And now she’s talking about launching her own standalone boutique, which would fire her right up there into the stratosphere alongside the Stellas, the Marc Jacobs and the Roland Mourets out there. ‘People say, “Am I going to have my own …

Countdown to bikini time: It’s on! Inspiration #1 = Kim Kardashian

Posted on by D in Fashion News, Fashionfreude | Leave a comment

One part of Ff is going to the beach soon. It’s official. That means it’s time to a) stop eating like I’m going to be shrouded in an overcoat for the next few months, and b) find a bikini whose integrity hasn’t been compromised by spending too long in the Jacuzzi (turning me into Lucy Lastic). No excuse except that it’s the most fun part of the gym, isn’t it? So for the inspiration I can but look at the …

Boat party for Pippa!! Middleton family joining Queen’s royal jubilee flotilla

Posted on by D in Fashion News, Fashionfreude | Leave a comment

It’s the ultimate sign of acceptance. The Queen has invited Kate’s family to join the Diamond Jubilee flotilla. Carole and Michael, Pippa and James will be on board a Mississippi-style paddle boat, refurbed with a disco and bar inside. Rock on! Charles’s trusty aide Michael Fawcett, who left amid a ‘selling gifts for cash’ scandal a while ago and came back to Bucky P as Chuck’s personal party organiser (you know this guy is good fun, right?) will be on …

Adieu, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy! First Lady of France bows out in style (no, wait, scratch that last bit)

Posted on by D in Beautyfreude, Fashion News, Fashionfreude | Leave a comment

It’s all over at the top for Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and, of course, her ex-Presidential husband Nicolas. And as Carla and Nicolas bow out and Francois Hollande and partner of six years Valerie Trierweiler step into the spotlight, you can’t help feeling that this isn’t how Carla imagined things would turn out. The eternally glamorous supermodel looked flat today as she accompanied her husband to the handover ceremony at Elysee Palace, in spite of her broad smile. (SEE PICS AT THE …

Ff loves… rustic chandelier lights by San Francisco artist Tracey Kessler

Spare £3,000? This is what we would spend it on this month. San Francisco designer Tracey Kessler has created some rustic-looking cage lights inspired by a some tangled old metal wire and old construction workers’ lamps she spotted at a salvage yard. Love the way they’re clustered together, and the warm ember-like glow. Via morewaystowastetime.blogspot.co.uk. Image copyright Eric Luse for the San Francisco Chronicle.

The secret to Sienna Miller’s luscious locks… Tomato KETCHUP

Posted on by D in Beautyfreude, Fashion News, Fashionfreude | Leave a comment

Yes, you read it right. Sienna Miller’s pretty blonde locks get their sheen from tomato sauce. The star confesses that she used henna to dye her blonde her brown for an audition a year ago, thinking that because it was a natural product, the effect would be easy to reverse. How wrong she was… Her hair went green – and the best way she found to remove the witchy tinge was to douse her hair liberally in ketchup on a …

Kate the great! Duchess of Cambridge dazzles in Roland Mouret

Posted on by M in Fashion News, Fashionfreude | Leave a comment

The Duchess of Cambridge shone again at a private event at Claridge’s hotel last night. Accompanying Prince William, Kate turned heads in a long cream gown by RM by Roland Mouret. The dress is from the label’s 2009 collection – and Kate was no doubt visiting her favourite discount stores track it down. Ff loves a good bargain. The look is decidedly un-Kate and with long sleeves and a split to the thigh, it’s much more Angelina. And we love …

He wears it well: Homeland’s Damian Lewis models for Mr Porter

Posted on by M in Fashion News, Fashionfreude | Leave a comment

You might know him better as Sergeant Brody from Homeland but Damian Lewis is making waves in the fashion world. The Brit put his modelling skills to use for Mr Porter – and it seems he can rock a pair of Dolce & Gabbana trousers as easily as military garb. We like that in a man. Via Mr Porter

Met Ball 2012: Riccardo Tisci nails it at fashion’s most important function

Posted on by M in Fashion News, Fashionfreude | Leave a comment

Three cheers for Riccardo Tisci, who sent out an army of fembots celebs to model his divine dresses at the Met Ball last night. The glamorous event, celebrating Prada and Schiaparelli this year, was a litany of who’s who in fashion, Hollywood and New York Elite. But Ff reckons Tisci, who was accompanied by Rooney Mara, won the night with his gothic, sultry and sexy designs. And then there was Beyonce….whose Givenchy sheer feather gown should have been a frock horror …
